BMW USA Factory Warranty is 4 years or 50,000 of bumper-to-bumper repairs on breakdowns caused by flaws in design or engineering during assembly.
BMW will pay the cost of parts and labor to fix or replace all defective mechanisms for the first 4 years.
However, BMW Factory Warranty does not include damage from improper usage, paint chips, modified parts, or normal wear to upholstery and trim.
BMW USA offers three options for owners who want to buy extended coverage: Platinum, Gold, and Powertrain.
What do the BMW Factory Warranty Options cover?
BMW Platinum
BMW USA Platinum coverage includes the engine, drive assembly, transfer case, transmission, radiator, fuel pump, water pump, infotainment, electrical, air conditioning, heat, and steering.
The only items not covered are listed in section 5a of the Sample Plan in the PDF section below.
Gold
The Gold extension includes a similar list of covered items, but does not cover as many electrical components as the Platinum plan.
By comparison, the Gold Plan does not include the radio, entertainment system, navigation, infotainment, or any component of those systems.
Powertrain
This minimal plan covers the main drivetrain components, but little else.
How much is the repair copay?
BMW deductible copay is $50 per repair visit. If several repairs are completed during a single visit, the copay remains $50.
How much does the BMW Platinum warranty cost?
Retail Market Value
6 Years or 100,000 miles $50 Deductible: $5840
Prices may vary by model, specs, location, and start date.
Where can I buy the BMW Platinum repair coverage?
Current owners may purchase the Platinum Plan in the Finance Department at any BMW dealership in the USA.
