4 Years or 50,000 Miles of bumper-to-bumper repairs and 6 Years or 70,000 Miles of powertrain repairs are covered by the standard Cadillac factory warranty.
The bumper-to-bumper warranty covers the cost of parts and labor to repair all defects caused by flaws in design or engineering during assembly at the manufacturing plant.
The powertrain warranty only covers the internal mechanisms within the engine, transmission, and drive axle.
Bumper-to-Bumper 4 Years | 50,000 Miles
Powertrain Warranty 6 Years | 70,000 Miles
Cadillac sells a Platinum Extended Warranty for owners who want longer coverage.
What does Cadillac Extended Warranty cover?
The Cadillac Platinum Warranty covers the engine, transmission, drive axle, ride control, blind spot sensors, reverse warning systems, air conditioning, heating, electrical, audio, video, and all other components except items specifically listed as exclusions at the bottom of page 4 in the Sample Terms below.
How much is the repair copay?
$0!
The Cadillac Platinum Warranty does not have a copay.
The cost of parts and labor to fix your ride is paid in full by Cadillac during covered breakdowns.
A rental car is also included free-of-charge so you can still have wheels while your car is in the shop.
When does it begin and end?
The Platinum Extended Warranty begins when the bumper-to-bumper factory warranty expires, and ends when the extended term or additional mileage is reached, whichever occurs first.
For example, if you buy a 2 year 24,000 mile extended warranty when your car has zero miles, then you will have 6 years or 74,000 miles of full coverage.

If you answer “yes” to these two questions, then it's worth it:
Are you a long term owner? Yes
Do you drive 12,000 per year? Yes
Extended warranties are always a roll of the dice, but the odds are in your favor when you buy the longest plan, keep the vehicle at least that term, and actually drive the mileage you paid to protect.
Where can I buy the Cadillac Platinum Warranty?
Insider tip:
Buy the extended warranty from the same dealer you want to return to for repairs.
Cadillac monitors repeat clients and ensures 100% satisfaction from dealers who are regularly checked by follow-up surveys to owners. Dealer bonuses depend on your good experience.
You can transfer your extended warranty to the next owner when you sell your vehicle, increasing its resale value. Warranty coverage is a key selling point.
Transfer the plan by mailing a copy of your registration sheet (page 1 in Sample Terms), a transfer request, and a check payable to the Administrator for $75 ($40 in Florida).
Where will repairs be done?
Repairs are performed by factory-trained technicians at Cadillac dealerships nationwide. Your service advisor will schedule a diagnostic evaluation prior to issuing a repair order.
Cadillac will pay for a rental car during your repair. Specify upfront if you need a rental vehicle similar to your current model due to passenger space or work conditions.
