How long is it?
Harley-Davidson factory warranty is 2 years and unlimited miles of fender to fender repair coverage on all malfunctions except normal wear items like brake pads, paint chips, and tires. You read that right: Unlimited mileage! |
You can ride 100,000 miles and still be under warranty, as long as you’re within two years of the original purchase date.
After two years expire, learn how to wrench or find a good mechanic, because all breakdowns from there will be paid out of pocket without the factory warranty. |
Can I extend it?
Yes! Harley offers an unlimited mileage extended warranty that gives you an extra 5 years of coverage for a total of 7 years of unlimited miles! You can ride a million miles and still be under warranty. What does the extended warranty cover? The Harley Extended Service Plan (ESP) covers 1100 parts including the engine, transmission, carburetor, fuel injection, starter, speedometer, cruise module, forks, electronics, sidecar hardware, and more. How much is the repair copay? Owners pay a $50 deductible per claim. The remaining cost for parts and labor is paid in full by the administrator. |
Are other extended plans available for comparison?
Yes. Motorcycle repair coverage is offered by several vendors. When price shopping, the most important element is to ensure the level of coverage is compared apples to apples: comprehensive mechanical and electrical repair coverage including parts and labor excluding only normal wear and routine maintenance. Request a quote for the highest level of protection. There’s nothing more annoying than spending your hard earned dollars on an extension today, only to find out in 5 years that it doesn’t cover your breakdown. |
Does the Extended Warranty transfer when I sell my motorcycle?
Yes! You may transfer your extended warranty with your Harley. You must complete a ESP Transfer Request Form with signatures from the buyer and seller; and mail it to the Administrator along with a check for the transfer fee. If your motorbike is less than 2 years old, then you must also transfer the factory warranty, because the extended warranty will not cover repairs that can be covered under the factory warranty. |
Where will repairs be done?
Repairs are done by certified motorbike techs at Harley service centers nationwide. The technician must complete a diagnostic inspection and obtain a repair authorization prior to full force wrench cranking. If you have difficulty obtaining a repair authorization, then you can call Harley-Davidson directly at this phone number: Harley ESP Phone Number: 800.527.7665 |
