How long is it?

Porsche Factory Warranty is 4 years or 50,000 miles of bumper-to-bumper repairs on malfunctions caused by defective parts installed at the manufacturing plant.

Rust perforating through the paint from the inside out is protected by a 12 year unlimited mileage factory warranty.

This is one of the longest paint warranties in the automotive industry and shows Porsche’s confidence in its workmanship.

Spare parts purchased after ownership are covered by a 2 year unlimited mileage Porsche factory warranty.

Can I extend it?

Yes!

Porsche offers two options for owners who want longer warranties via Porsche Vehicle Service Protection (VSP).

If something malfunctions in the first 4 years of ownership it will be repaired free of charge under the factory warranty.

After that it will be extremely expensive to repair your Porsche unless you have a VSP.

What do the Porsche Extended Warranty Options cover?

Option 1

The VSP Platinum Plan is the best warranty Porsche offers.

It covers the engine, transmission, all-wheel drive, high performance, racing parts, climate controls, fuel system, electrical system, power group, navigation, audio, and computers.

Almost everything on the vehicle is covered except normal wear items like tires and trim.

Option 2

The VSP Powertrain extension covers the engine, transmission, and drive axle only.

Many repairs are not covered by this option.

Platinum is worth the extra cost because it covers thousands of components that the Powertrain does not cover.

How much is the repair copay?

Porsche offers two options of deductible copay: $100 disappearing or $250.

Does the Extended Warranty transfer when I sell my car?

Yes!

You may sell your extended warranty with your car, increasing the value to the next owner.

You must contact the plan administrator at the phone number below within 30 days of the sale and pay the $50 fee to transfer the plan into the new owner’s name.

If you sell your vehicle to a dealer, you may cancel your plan for a prorated refund.

Where will repairs be done?

Repairs are done by factory trained technicians at Porsche dealerships nationwide.

A Service Writer will issue a diagnostic inspection and obtain a repair authorization prior to assigning your vehicle to a technician.
