Florida Registration Calculator and 2026 DMV Fee Chart

Florida registration fees are calculated by weight for new and used vehicles.
Enter the vehicle weight into the tag calculator to discover the fees due for the next 3 years.
Use these plate fees to calculate monthly car payments in our FL car payment calculator.
How Florida Registration Works
First-time plate registrations cost at least $225 more than transfers or renewals. Trucks over 5000 pounds are exempt from the initial $225 fee, but they require increased weight fees including potential payloads.
The tag fee calculator automatically finds how much the first title transfer costs by comparing the vehicle type and weight to the plate status.

For example, if you pay $ in FL car registration fees over the next 3 years:
  • $ goes toward Florida state highways
  • $ goes toward local county roads
  • $ goes toward local city roads
