Subaru has two extended warranty options for long-term owners: Gold Plus and Classic.

What does a Subaru extended warranty cover?

Option 1 - Gold Plus Added Security

Subaru Gold Plus pays for repairs on the engine, transmission, electrical, steering, heating, air conditioning, struts, power windows, power door locks, CV joints, and more.

It covers breakdowns on almost all mechanical and electrical systems.

It even covers failures due to normal wear, and consequential damage when one part causes a problem with another.

Some restrictions apply.

See list of exclusions.

Option 2 - Classic Added Security

The Subaru Classic plan is more of a roll of the dice than an Added Security.

It has an extensive list of covered parts but many important repairs are omitted, like high tech components and navigation systems.

The Gold Plus plan is a wiser choice worth the difference in cost.

How much is the repair copay?

Subaru Added Security has two options of deductible copay: $0 or $100.

The $0 copay appears to be the best choice until the difference in upfront cost is considered.

It costs about $800 less to buy the $100 copay plan.

Therefore, F&I Tools analysts consider the $100 deductible Subaru Gold Plus warranty the best value for the price!

Price differences occur more by location and usage than by model for Subaru.

Where can I buy the Subaru Added Security extended warranty?

Insider tip:

Buy the extended warranty from the same dealer you plan to return to for repairs.

The selling dealer will have a monetary incentive to provide great service because ratings from repeat customers are monitored by Subaru.

One good survey from you can save the dealership thousands of dollars in bonus money. One bad survey has the opposite effect.

Mention you like to give good surveys every time you visit the service department and you will be surprised by the extra effort everyone provides.
