GM worldwide vehicle sales reached 5.9 million vehicles for $144 billion in revenue last year. Unit volume was down 6% year over year, but profits increased 31%.
GM global units have dropped significantly from a high of 10 million vehicles over the last 5 years, but the brand is on pace for its long term goal to trim down before boosting production as EV markets emerge. General Motors employs over 157,000 people worldwide and sells vehicles at over 12,000 retail dealerships. The profit displayed is gross profit after the cost of materials is subtracted, but before administrative fees. |
